Hm. If it's the Final Veil puzzle, then it should be the red slabs, which you clearly have in your inventory. I know the interaction with the grid spaces could be really screwy sometimes. Have you tried rotating the camera around and trying at different zoom levels? Leaving the area and coming back, or reloading a save?
